If you are a female age 10 years of age and up, or know of a female with that criteria, and are a direct descendant of a Union Civil War veteran, a niece of a Union Civil War veteran, or a direct descendant of a Union Civil War nurse,you are eligible for membership in the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic.  The L.G.A.R. is the oldest women's organization in the United States and the only organization that may use the name of the Grand Army of the Republic.  If you are proud of your Civil War ancestry, would like to help preserve the CW battlefields, keep Memorial Day as "sacred" to the memory of our Civil War forefathers and all our veterans, please contact me at jcall@cros.net for further information.  Thank you.
